October 20, 2006, Newsletter Issue #18: Backpacking With A Motorcycle

Tip of the Week

Backpacks are handy motorcycle accessories to take along with you during motorcycle rides. When looking for a backpack, think about how much you would like to spend, as well as your preference for the size and material of the backpack. Shopping at different sports stores will bring you one step closer to finding a heavy-duty backpack. A backpack made of cheap material will save money in the beginning, but will not be used for a long time, resulting in higher costs in the end. Determine how much can be saved by purchasing a backpack under warranty. In this way, if repairs or a replacement is needed, the backpack will be covered by the warranty. If you can afford it, spend a little more money to buy a quality backpack. Look for a medium size backpack with padded shoulders. Inspect the seams and zippers, to ensure it is strong enough to ride with. By figuring out from the beginning what type and style of backpack is wanted, this will save time and money.
